Here was the map and Plan A.

Day one was to set up camp, goof off get to bed early. Then wake up early, drive to trail head on Kephart Prong Trail and hike 2.5 miles up to Kephart Shelter then hike back.  I wanted to show everyone what a shelter looked like if we were to do a back country hike one day. 

Here's the photo of the shelter I showed the kids, Madison said " Where's the door?"
I said it's a shelter not a cottage.

Plans don't always work out like you plan. Due to a quick hike that turned into a not so quick hike after setting up camp on day one.
